  • HAUS ETIQUETTE

    Appointment Timing
    Please arrive on time and prepared for your session. If you are more than 15 minutes late, your appointment will need to be rescheduled and a new deposit will be required.

    When you arrive, wait on the benches outside if the door is closed. I may be with another client or setting up for you.

    Guests
    Art Haus is a small private studio. Clients are encouraged to come alone. One guest is permitted if necessary. For group bookings of two or more, no additional guests are allowed.

    Minors
    No minors are permitted in the studio under any circumstance, including waiting during your appointment.

    Design Adjustments
    Designs are finalized at your appointment. Minor placement or sizing adjustments can be made at that time. For larger design changes, please notify Lisa at least 4 days prior to your appointment through email.

    Artistic Boundaries
    Art Haus reserves the right to decline any design request that conflicts with personal values, religious convictions, or artistic direction. This includes imagery or symbolism that promotes hate, harm, or is not aligned with the standards of the studio. All design requests are subject to approval.

    Artistic Direction
    Art Haus specializes in fine line, minimalist tattooing. Designs outdoes of this style may be declined.

    Ink
    Art Haus tattoos are done in black ink only.

    Art Haus maintains a respectful studio environment. Disruptive or offensive behavior will result in refusal of service.

  • HOW TO BOOK

    Start by submitting an inquiry form. You can find an inquiry link under our “services” and “contact” page. Please allow 5–7 business days for review. You will receive a recommendation for the appropriate appointment type once your request has been evaluated.

    To keep the process streamlined, please avoid follow-up messages while your inquiry is pending.

    Detailed submissions receive the most accurate responses.

    INQUIRY DETAILS

    Please be as descriptive as possible when submitting your form. Include placement ideas, approximate size, and any specific wording or imagery.

    If requesting a name, include the exact spelling.
    If requesting a birth flower, list the specific flower rather than “my son’s birth flower.”

    Clear details allow your request to be reviewed accurately and efficiently.

    DESIGN PROCESS

    Designs are not sent or shown prior to your appointment. All artwork is reviewed and finalized in person to ensure accurate sizing and placement.

    Your inquiry form is an essential part of this process. Please provide detailed information, including placement, size, and specific wording or imagery.

    Significant design changes or complete overhauls requested at your appointment may require rescheduling.

    PRICING

    All prices listed are starting rates. Final pricing is based on size, detail, placement, and any adjustments made during your appointment.

    Minimum

    The Art Haus minimum is $185 per person, regardless of size. Every appointment requires preparation, design time, and sterile setup.

    Reserved time

    Reductions in design count at your appointment does not reduce the appointment price. Pricing does not adjust based on last minute changes. Please only book for designs you are certain you want.

    Payments

    Art Haus accepts all major credit cards and cash. Checks are not accepted. Please note, Art Haus does not carry large amounts of change.

    IDENTIFICATION
    A valid physical ID must be presented at your appointment. Failure to provide proper identification will result in denial of service.

    Accepted forms of ID include:
    • State driver’s license
    • State-issued identification card
    • Passport
    • Military ID

    Digital copies or photos of identification are not accepted.

    If you are newly 18, you must present your updated ID or official paperwork reflecting the change in age, as required by the Minnesota Department of Health.

    CANCELLATIONS + RESCHEDULES

    A minimum of 48 hours notice is required to cancel or reschedule an appointment.

    No-call, no-show appointments are charged the full service amount. Outstanding balances must be paid before future bookings will be accepted.

    Emergencies are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

    Please confirm your appointment through Square when prompted.

    DEPOSITS

    Deposits may be transferred one time. Any additional reschedules will require a new deposit. Repeated rescheduling may result in loss of booking privileges.

    All deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable to another individual.

    In group bookings, each deposit secures that individual’s appointment time. If one member of the group cancels or fails to attend, their deposit covers the reserved time and is not applied toward another person’s balance.

    ILLNESS

    If you are feeling unwell, experiencing fever, flu-like symptoms, or active infection, please reschedule your appointment. Tattooing while sick can impact healing and studio safety.

    GROUP APPOINTMENTS

    Art Haus accepts group bookings.

    For groups of 3 or more, please indicate this clearly on your inquiry form.

    If each person is submitting a separate inquiry due to different designs, every individual must include the first and last name of one designated group member so inquiries can be connected properly.

    If everyone is receiving the same design, only one inquiry form is required. Please note the total number of participants within the form.

    MEDICAL ELIGIBILITY

    For the safety of both client and artist, certain medical conditions may disqualify an individual from receiving a tattoo at Art Haus.

    Art Haus does not perform services on individuals with active contagious bloodborne pathogens, uncontrolled bleeding disorders, or conditions that significantly increase risk during a tattoo procedure.

    Clients who are pregnant or nursing, under 18 years of age, currently undergoing cancer treatment, taking blood thinners or anticoagulants, or managing uncontrolled diabetes are not eligible for service.

    If you have any medical condition that may affect bleeding, immunity, or healing, you must consult your physician prior to scheduling.

    Art Haus reserves the right to deny service based on health and safety considerations.

    SKIN INTEGRITY

    Tattoo results depend heavily on the health and elasticity of the skin. In some cases, thinning, fragile, or significantly sun-damaged skin may not hold fine line work properly.

    If the skin in the desired placement area is not suitable for tattooing, placement adjustments may be required. In rare cases, service may be declined to ensure quality results.

    Art Haus reserves the right to refuse service if skin condition may compromise the outcome of the tattoo.

  • PREPARATION

    Even small tattoos require proper preparation.

    • Stay hydrated
    • Exfoliate and moisturize the area in the days leading up
    • Get a full night of sleep
    • Eat beforehand and bring a snack if needed
    • Wear loose clothing appropriate for your tattoo placement

    Avoid alcohol, THC, ibuprofen, or supplements that may increase bleeding prior to your appointment.

    CLOTHING

    Wear loose, comfortable clothing that allows clear access to the tattoo area. Avoid restrictive garments that may interfere with placement or press into the skin.

    For rib tattoos, avoid structured or low-cut bras that may cover the intended placement. Consider wearing a bralette, string-style top, loose tank, or a garment that can be easily adjusted without compressing the skin.

    For spine or back tattoos, avoid tight bras or fitted tops. A zip-up hoodie that can be worn backward works well.

    Clothing that rubs against or compresses the skin may affect placement and comfort during your session.

    AFTERCARE

    Keep your bandage on for 2–5 days. Fluid buildup under the clear bandage is normal.

    To remove:
    With clean hands, gently remove the bandage under warm soapy water using a mild cleanser. Pat dry with a paper towel and apply a thin layer of Mad Rabbit Balm or Aquaphor.

    Days 1–14
    Wash twice daily with mild antibacterial soap. Apply a light layer of ointment as needed. Mild itching and flaking are normal during healing.

    Touch Ups
    Touch ups are a normal part of the tattoo process, regardless of size. If needed, please wait a full 30 days before scheduling to ensure the tattoo is completely healed

    Avoid

    • Pools, hot tubs, lakes, or oceans for 4 weeks
    • Sun exposure, tanning, or spray tans for 4–6 weeks

    Once fully healed (approximately 4 weeks), apply sunscreen daily to preserve your tattoo.

My journey into tattooing began through permanent makeup, where precision and detail were everything. As more clients began requesting small, delicate tattoos, I immersed myself in the craft and committed fully to mastering fine line technique.
